Internet safety is the act of staying safe online from cyber attacks which can cause damage to hardware, software or electronic data.
TYPES OF CYBER ATTACKS
•Malware Attack
Malware is short for malicious software. It is designed to steal data and damage or destroy computer system. Examples include; virus, worms, Trojan virus, spyware, adware and ransom ware.
•Password Attack
This is a type of cybersecurity attack where hackers attempt to access a file, folder, account or computer secured with a password.
•Phishing Attack
This a type of cybersecurity attack during which malicious actors send messages pretending to be a trusted person or entity.

•Regularly scan your pc.
•Regularly change your pass words.
•Avoid public wifi.
•Always verify a link for safety. Beware of links with (http).
•Verify one's identity by checking up name(s) in the mail on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter.
•Do not click on links that look suspicious or appear to have been shortened or altered.
•Keep your PC updated

•Use a strong email password.
•Regularly change your password.
•Use two-factor authentication.
•Look out for phishing emails.
•Never access emails from public WiFi.
•Do not repeat passwords on so many accounts.
TOOLS FOR KEEPING SAFE ONLINE
ANTI-VIRUS: An antivirus will scan your computer and delete any malware it recognises. Add antivirus to your system and always keep it updated.
A POP-UP BLOCKER: Use a pop-up blocker, it can prevent unsafe or malicious code in pop-up windows from appearing.
ROUTERS AND MIFI: Connecting to the internet directly, exposes your PC to variety of security threats. Therefore routers can be used as intermediary between two networks, so that the environment is secured to an extent.
VIRTUAL PERSONAL NETWORK (VPN): A VPN establishes a secure connection between someone's device and a proxy location. A VPN completely encrypts your online traffic and hide's your Physical address.
